  • Ben Blair

    Director

    Ben is a director, producer, and writer based in Los Angeles, CA. Ben and Joel became friends in 2022 at the Silo District Marathon, in Waco, Texas, benefitting the Brave Like Gabe Foundation, a rare cancer organization. Ben was inspired by Joel’s grit and determination to run the marathon before the moment with The Killers took place. Once Joel played with The Killers, Ben knew he wanted to bring this story to people who could find hope and inspiration in how he faced adversity and challenges in his life. Ben leads brand storytelling at Pamoza Pictures, a creative production and communications agency helping brands and organizations tell stories that propel change. He’s worked with Intuit, Nike, Four Seasons, Brooks Running, Ted X, the Special Olympics and more. He also spent nine months living in Malawi, Africa working on his first documentary project in 2012.

  • Deb Smith

    Producer

    Deborah is an award-winning actor and producer of both fiction and documentary feature films. Deborah specializes in the crafting of compelling stories; for both fictional narratives and documentaries, she focuses on unique characters that draw us into the world of the film. Her latest documentary, Butterfly in the Sky, about the making of the long-running PBS series Reading Rainbow, premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2022 before screening at more than 40 festivals and winning 14 awards, including a Jury Special Mention at the acclaimed Palm Springs International Film Festival. The film will soon premiere on a very popular streaming platform that she’s contractually not permitted to name. Deborah has also produced four narrative feature films, including her latest, Here Awhile, starring Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect, True Blood) and Joe Lo Truglio (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). The film was honored with the Audience Award at Omaha International Film Festival and can be found on Hulu.

    Will is a Los Angeles-based freelance cinematographer and editor passionate about crafting compelling visual stories. With a degree in business marketing from Loyola Marymount University, Will combines creative vision with strategic insight to deliver exceptional results. In his first year of freelance, Will had the opportunity to create content for 7 Olympic athletes, generate 7.8 million views, and collaborate with clients such as the LPGA, the WSL, Lexus, and Complex.

  • Jason Stack

    Edit/Camera

    Jason is a Los Angeles-based editor, videographer, and award-winning documentary filmmaker with over a decade of experience in video production and marketing. He began his career at Fox Sports West filming and editing weekly segments for the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, and Los Angeles Angels' magazine shows. He went on to be the lead on-air promo producer at Tennis Channel and editor for TV spots promoting the network's live tennis coverage, OTT platforms, FAST channels, and digital initiatives. Jason directed, filmed, and edited One Is Too Many, a documentary about a 71-year-old endurance athlete and his inspiring transatlantic row to raise money for veteran suicide prevention.

    Brian is a Los Angeles-based writer, filmmaker, and editor. His most recent short film, "Made Public," starring Jeanine Mason and Josh Zuckerman, screened at more than 40 festivals and garnered more than a dozen awards, including the 2017 Emergence Award. Additional screenwriting credits include the award-winning short film "Waffles," also starring Jeanine Mason, which screened at more than 30 festivals around the world; the short film MIA, starring Xochitl Gomez, which premiered at Disney Studios; the web series "The Junior League of Super Heroes," which premiered at the Comic-Con Film Festival in San Diego; the short film "Ransom," which he also directed; and the short film "Proxy," which premiered at HollyShorts Film Festival in 2022. His latest dark comedy short, "5 Stages of Grief," was awarded the SHIFT Creative Fund grant in 2019. Brian has also scripted two educational series: "The Noise in Your Head," a six-episode web series about anxiety, and "OCD & The 6-Moment Game."
